Se trata de la primera venta de particulares lo que lo convierte en un hecho hist\u00f3rico. Los Barbachano que inicialmente eran propietarios de 698 hect\u00e1reas en lo que se conoc\u00eda como la hacienda Chich\u00e9n Itz\u00e1 hicieron una primera venta de terrenos en el \u00e1rea, de aproximadamente 80 hect\u00e1reas al gobierno de Yucat\u00e1n, durante la administraci\u00f3n de Ivonne Ortega Pacheco por m\u00e1s de 220 millones de pesos, tras una a\u00f1eja pol\u00e9mica relacionada con la posesi\u00f3n familiar de los predios.<\/p>\n<p>La reciente compra del INAH se ubica en la zona de Chich\u00e9n Itz\u00e1 Viejo, correspondiente al periodo precl\u00e1sico en donde se localizan important\u00edsimos vestigios mayas como el templo de las mu\u00f1ecas y el templo de los falos. A estos se suman otros objetos de enorme valor hist\u00f3ricos como un retablo de 40cm de altura por 7 metros de largo que describe la cosmovisi\u00f3n maya de la Creaci\u00f3n con un sentido es profundamente sexual, considerado una joya \u00fanica del acervo cultural. Sin embargo, para finales de a\u00f1o el instituto a\u00fan no anunciaba que era ya el depositario nacional de tan importante
