En el marco del 77\u00ba Congreso Mundial Sk\u00e5l que se celebr\u00f3 en M\u00f3naco, se destac\u00f3 a Maya Ka\u2019an como nuevo destino de eco-turismo de Quintana Roo, el cual cobra vida por medio de la conservaci\u00f3n y el aprovechamiento sustentable de la riqueza natural y cultural de la zona. Como una iniciativa de Amigos de Sian Ka\u2019an que promueve la protecci\u00f3n de la biodiversidad y el desarrollo socioecon\u00f3mico de las comunidades mayas del estado se lanz\u00f3 este destino, compuesto por extensas \u00e1reas naturales y aut\u00e9nticas comunidades donde a\u00fan se conserva la cultura maya. Nigel Pilkington, presidente de Sk\u00e5l International, entreg\u00f3 el\u00a0 reconocimiento a Gonzalo Merediz Alonso y\u00a0 Zendy Celeste Euan, director ejecutivo de Amigos de Sian Ka\u2019an y
