La empresa recibi\u00f3 este distintivo en la categor\u00eda de \u201cCuidado y Preservaci\u00f3n al Medio Ambiente\u201d, por el programa de limpieza del canal Nizuc. El galard\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n lo recibieron otras 45 importantes compa\u00f1\u00edas de M\u00e9xico y Am\u00e9rica Latina. La limpieza del canal Nizuc inici\u00f3 hace 18 a\u00f1os por iniciativa de colaboradores de Aquaworld, entre ellos el ocean\u00f3grafo Jorge Garc\u00eda Trevi\u00f1o. Surgi\u00f3 como un evento para recoger algunos desechos s\u00f3lidos en el \u00e1rea del canal,\u00a0 donde recolectaron m\u00e1s de 600 kg de basura.
