(CEMDA) fue incluido por sexto a\u00f1o consecutivo, en la lista de los\u00a0<em>Think tanks<\/em>\u00a0(Centros de an\u00e1lisis y generaci\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n) de mayor importancia a nivel mundial, de acuerdo con la edici\u00f3n 2016 del<em>\u00a0Global Go To Think Tanks Rankings<\/em>\u00a0de la Universidad de Pensilvania, en Estados Unidos.<\/div>\n<div>Desde su primera aparici\u00f3n en el lugar 30, CEMDA ha ido escalando posiciones y este a\u00f1o se ubica en el lugar 21, como el m\u00e1s importante de Am\u00e9rica Latina en temas de medio ambiente.<\/div>\n<div>El \u00cdndice\u00a0<em>Global Go To Think Tank<\/em>\u00a0es elaborado desde hace diez a\u00f1os por el Programa\u00a0<em>Think Tanks<\/em>y Sociedades Civiles (TTCSP) del Instituto Lauder de la Universidad de Pensilvania, el cual realiza investigaciones sobre el papel que los institutos de pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas desempe\u00f1an para los gobiernos y la sociedad civil en todo el mundo. En los \u00faltimos 26 a\u00f1os, el TTCSP ha desarrollado y dirigido una serie de iniciativas globales que han ayudado a cerrar la brecha entre el conocimiento y la pol\u00edtica en \u00e1reas estrat\u00e9gicas como la paz y seguridad internacional, globalizaci\u00f3n y gobernanza, econom\u00eda mundial, informaci\u00f3n, combate a la pobreza, salud, y medio ambiente.<\/div>\n<div>El reporte describe a los\u00a0<em>Think Tanks<\/em>\u00a0como \u00aborganizaciones comprometidas con el an\u00e1lisis, que generan investigaci\u00f3n orientada a pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas, que permiten a los pol\u00edticos tomar decisiones informadas\u00bb y estima que en Am\u00e9rica del Norte (Canad\u00e1, EEUU y M\u00e9xico) actualmente existen 1,931, ubic\u00e1ndose la gran mayor\u00eda (1,835) en Estados Unidos y s\u00f3lo 61 en M\u00e9xico.<\/div>\n<div>En el ranking de los mejores\u00a0<em>Think Tanks<\/em>\u00a0a nivel mundial aparece en el n\u00famero uno el Brookings Institution de EEUU, seguido del Chatham House de Gran Breta\u00f1a, el French Institute of International Relations (IFRI) de Francia en tercer lugar, el Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) de EEUU y en quinto lugar el Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, tambi\u00e9n en Estados Unidos.<\/div>\n<div>En la lista de los\u00a0<em>Think Tanks<\/em>\u00a0ambientales m\u00e1s importantes a nivel mundial, el CEMDA aparece en el lugar 21 de una lista encabezada en los tres primeros lugares por el Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) de Suecia, el Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) de Alemania y el World Resources Institute (WRI) de Estados Unidos.<\/div>\n<div>Adem\u00e1s del CEMDA, otros\u00a0<em>Think tanks<\/em>\u00a0ambientales de Am\u00e9rica Latina incluidos en la lista son el Centro Brasile\u00f1o de Relaciones Internacionales (CEBRI) (Brasil), el Departamento Ecolog\u00eda y Territorio de la Facultad de Estudios Ambientales y Rurales (FEAR) de Colombia y el Instituto de Estudios Avanzados en Desarrollo (INESAD) de Bolivia. Todas estas organizaciones son consideradas \u00abgrandes generadores y agentes de cambio profundo en las pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas de sus respectivos pa\u00edses en materia ambiental, energ\u00e9tica y de cambio clim\u00e1tico\u00bb.<\/div>\n<div>Entre los criterios que fueron considerados para las nominaciones se encuentran la calidad y compromiso del liderazgo del\u00a0<em>Think tank<\/em>\u00a0(director general y \u00f3rgano rector); calidad y reputaci\u00f3n del personal; rendimiento y reputaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica; importancia de la investigaci\u00f3n y an\u00e1lisis generado por la organizaci\u00f3n; la amplitud de la audiencia a la que llegan; la contribuci\u00f3n a la discusi\u00f3n p\u00fablica y al proceso de elaboraci\u00f3n de pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas; la relaci\u00f3n directa del trabajo de la organizaci\u00f3n con un cambio significativo en la sociedad como es el mejoramiento del medio ambiente; el nivel de interlocuci\u00f3n y prestigio ante actores clave, tomadores de decisiones, medios de comunicaci\u00f3n y acad\u00e9micos; cobertura y referencias en medios de comunicaci\u00f3n; as\u00ed como la habilidad para cumplir sus objetivos y alcanzar las metas propuestas por sus donantes.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Gustavo Alan\u00eds Ortega, fundador y actual Director General del CEMDA, coment\u00f3 que \u00abes un gran honor para nosotros el aparecer nuevamente en una muy buena posici\u00f3n en este ranking de las organizaciones m\u00e1s reconocidas en el mundo por lo que aportamos desde nuestra trinchera a la causa ambiental.
