Para ese momento Fonatur abogaba por el impulso a nuevos proyectos tur\u00edsticos de dimensiones m\u00e1s \u201cmanejables\u201d que los Centros Integralmente Planeados (CIP), y un ejemplo ser\u00eda el de Costa Maya en Quintana Roo. Con esto, el reto para el organismo, creado en 1974 como un banco de desarrollo, era diversificar la oferta tur\u00edstica del estado con una propuesta de baja densidad hotelera. Asimismo, para 2003 estaban en marcha dos obras insignia en el destino: Puerto Canc\u00fan y Malec\u00f3n Canc\u00fan, que formaban parte de una serie de proyectos denominados \u201cdetonadores\u201d, bajo un esquema en el que Fonatur como propietario de la tierra dotaba de servicios y, posteriormente, como agencia inmobiliaria se asociaba con inversionistas para impulsar los proyectos.<\/p>\n<p>A 10 a\u00f1os de esta entrevista, Costa Maya a\u00fan espera su detonaci\u00f3n, mientras que Malec\u00f3n Canc\u00fan, renombrado como Tajamar Canc\u00fan, fue entregado oficialmente hace apenas un a\u00f1o; actualmente tiene un 60% de avance en ventas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Radiograf\u00eda general\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En la \u00faltima d\u00e9cada el Fondo no pudo replicar el \u00e9xito de los mundialmente famosos destinos tur\u00edsticos de Canc\u00fan y Los Cabos. Tambi\u00e9n dej\u00f3 al paso proyectos a medias, como Playa Esp\u00edritu en Sinaloa, Loreto Bay,\u00a0 la Escalera N\u00e1utica y Litib\u00fa, algunos de los m\u00e1s importantes desarrollos de la administraci\u00f3n foxista.\u00a0 Con el reciente cambio de gobierno federal, H\u00e9ctor G\u00f3mez Barraza asume las riendas del organismo y hereda con ello una deuda de cuatro mil 600 mdp. \u00bfEl reto?
