{"id":2735,"date":"2013-05-13T13:18:47","date_gmt":"2013-05-13T18:18:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/innovatori.space\/lat21\/?p=2735"},"modified":"2013-06-05T12:30:10","modified_gmt":"2013-06-05T17:30:10","slug":"difundiran-esfuerzos-de-hoteles-por-proteger-la-tortuga-marina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/l21.mx\/?p=2735","title":{"rendered":"DIFUNDIRAN ESFUERZOS DE HOTELES POR PROTEGER LA TORTUGA MARINA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/TORTUGA-CANCUN.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"TORTUGA CANCUN\" src=\"http:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/TORTUGA-CANCUN-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Los esfuerzos de la industria tur\u00edstica de Canc\u00fan y Puerto Morelos por cuidar el medio ambiente y proteger a la tortuga marina ser\u00e1n incluidos en un libro que se distribuir\u00e1 a nivel internacional a principios del pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o, anunci\u00f3 la Oficina de Visitantes y Convenciones de Canc\u00fan (OVC).<\/p>\n<p>El organismo de promoci\u00f3n tur\u00edstica anunci\u00f3 que la periodista estadounidense\u00a0 Melissa Gaskill, quien colabora con prestigiadas publicaciones como American Way, Family Fun, Men\u00b4s Journal y The Austin American Statement, escribe un libro en conjunto con reconocidos especialistas en la que abordar\u00e1 la destacada labor de hoteleros y autoridades de Canc\u00fan y del Caribe Mexicano por preservar y crear conciencia entre los turistas sobre el cuidado de las tortugas.<\/p>\n<p>La escritora independiente, con m\u00e1s de 17 a\u00f1os de experiencia en zoolog\u00eda y periodismo especializado en ciencia y naturaleza, estuvo en el destino para conocer de cerca las acciones de protecci\u00f3n que realizan los hoteles The Ritz Carlton y Sandos Canc\u00fan as\u00ed como visit\u00f3 la Isla de Holbox para platicar con especialistas del campamento tortuguero a fin de conocer las diferentes especies que anidan en la zona.<\/p>\n<p>El libro abordar\u00e1 temas como las diferentes especies de tortugas marinas, las amenazas a su supervivencia y lo que la industria tur\u00edstica y comunidad est\u00e1n haciendo para ayudar en el cuidado de esta especie, incluyendo un cap\u00edtulo sobre M\u00e9xico, y en especial de Canc\u00fan, destino tur\u00edstico en el que autoridades y hoteleros participaron en la protecci\u00f3n de 5 mil 600 nidos en el 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Entre otras acciones, los centros de alojamiento cooperan con el traslado de muebles de playa, el apagado de luces, la reubicaci\u00f3n de nidos a zonas m\u00e1s seguras y el marcado de estos sitios para educar a los turistas sobre la anidaci\u00f3n de las tortugas marinas.<\/p>\n<p>Un 90 por ciento de los hoteles ubicados a lo largo de la l\u00ednea de costa en la \u00e1reas de anidaci\u00f3n de Isla Canc\u00fan (del hotel Coral Beach al Hotel Club Med) y Puerto Morelos (Punta Petempich a Punta Brava) colaboran en la preservaci\u00f3n de la tortuga marina. En la zona hotelera de Canc\u00fan se colocaron 45 corrales de protecci\u00f3n y seis en Puerto Morelos adem\u00e1s de realizar recorridos de vigilancia de d\u00eda y noche para proteger los nidos.<\/p>\n<p>En ese sentido, The Ritz Carlton Canc\u00fan inici\u00f3 en 2002 su programa de protecci\u00f3n a los quelonios a trav\u00e9s del patrullaje nocturno de la playa frente al hotel as\u00ed como lleva un registro de los nidos, huevos y especies de tortugas. Los turistas pueden solicitar que se les avise si se descubre un desove de tortugas o participar en la liberaci\u00f3n nocturna de cr\u00edas. Se han visto hasta 20 tortugas anidando en una noche, con un total de 235 en el 2012.<\/p>\n<p>En la playa del hotel Sandos Canc\u00fan se protegieron 41 nidos y se liberaron 4 mil 423 cr\u00edas durante el a\u00f1o pasado. En los hoteles de cadena hotelera se ofrecen charlas sobre tortugas y hay planes para iniciar un programa de voluntarios para el cuidado de esta especie con hu\u00e9spedes.<\/p>\n<p>En esta visita se cont\u00f3 con la colaboraci\u00f3n por parte del hotel Sandos Canc\u00fan de Ramiro Mu\u00f1oz, Auditor Ecol\u00f3gico, Arely Barreda, Gerente de Ventas; Jessica Pantoja, Gerente\u00a0 de Ventas de Grupos as\u00ed como de Gabriela Romero, Directora General de Ecolog\u00eda y de Lorena Flores Dzul, Directora de Protecci\u00f3n Ambiental del H.
