Canc\u00fan.<\/b>\u00a0La Revista Convenciones Latinoam\u00e9rica otorg\u00f3 a la OVC de Canc\u00fan el reconocimiento a la Mejor Oficina de Convenciones\u00a0 y Visitantes de M\u00e9xico con base en su encuesta nacional entre organizadores de eventos de asociaciones y empresas del sector turismo y viajes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Como resultado de los esfuerzos de promoci\u00f3n para consolidarlo como el destino tur\u00edstico de playa m\u00e1s atractivo de nuestro pa\u00eds para la celebraci\u00f3n de congresos, convenciones y viajes de incentivos, la Oficina de Visitantes y Convenciones (OVC) consigui\u00f3 este codiciado galard\u00f3n por su excelente labor durante el a\u00f1o en el marco del 21 aniversario de la entrega de estos reconocimientos al \u201cM\u00e9rito de Calidad en Convenciones 2017\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

En el marco de la ceremonia de premiaci\u00f3n, realizada en el Hotel Fiesta Americana Reforma, de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico, la Directora de Mercadotecnia de la OVC de Canc\u00fan, Roc\u00edo Intriago recibi\u00f3 el reconocimiento de manos de Fernando Compe\u00e1n, Editor de la Revista Convenciones Latinoam\u00e9rica, ante la presencia de los m\u00e1s importantes meeting planners del pa\u00eds, representantes de la Secretar\u00eda de Turismo, del Consejo de Promoci\u00f3n Tur\u00edstica de M\u00e9xico y m\u00e1s de 250 profesionales de la industria de congresos, convenciones y exposiciones del pa\u00eds.<\/span><\/p>\n

El organismo de promoci\u00f3n se\u00f1al\u00f3 que el a\u00f1o pasado llegaron alrededor de 4.7 millones de turistas al destino y estim\u00f3 que un 20 por ciento de estos visitantes correspondi\u00f3 al segmento de reuniones, incentivos, convenciones y exhibiciones, teniendo entre sus principales fortalezas, por encima de otros destinos del Caribe, su extensa conectividad a\u00e9rea con las principales ciudades del mundo, la tasa cero en congresos internacionales y su moderna infraestructura hotelera.<\/span><\/p>\n

El turismo de convenciones tiene una estancia promedio de 4.5 noches y la derrama econ\u00f3mica en este segmento se incrementa con la asistencia de acompa\u00f1antes que realizan tours y compras. Las \u00e1reas m\u00e1s fuertes son farmac\u00e9utica (incentivos), medicina (congresos), ciencia y tecnolog\u00eda (convenciones), automotriz (convenciones e incentivos), as\u00ed como eventos religiosos, educativos y financiero.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sus dos principales recintos son el Canc\u00fan International Convention Center, con capacidad para 7 mil personas y una superficie de 14 mil 200 m2 y la Arena del hotel Moon Palace, con capacidad para 9,776 asistentes y un espacio total de 25, 742 m2 para sesiones y expos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Convenciones Latinoam\u00e9rica es una revista bimestral especializada en turismo de reuniones que tiene como objetivo promover y profesionalizar este sector, con una distribuci\u00f3n selectiva de 8 mil ejemplares impresos y m\u00e1s de 25 mil digitales dirigidos a tomadores de decisiones.<\/span><\/p>\n
