{"id":30229,"date":"2018-01-02T16:32:55","date_gmt":"2018-01-02T21:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/innovatori.space\/lat21\/?p=30229"},"modified":"2018-02-01T10:25:14","modified_gmt":"2018-02-01T15:25:14","slug":"ano-nuevo-arrecifes-nuevos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/l21.mx\/?p=30229","title":{"rendered":"A\u00f1o nuevo,\u00a0\u00bfarrecifes nuevos?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/vicente-ferreyra-n.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"vicente-ferreyra-n\" src=\"http:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/vicente-ferreyra-n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"167\" height=\"108\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Inicia 2018 y seguramente muchos de nosotros hemos pensado y repensado m\u00e1s de una vez nuestros prop\u00f3sitos para este nuevo a\u00f1o, y es que esta siempre es una buena \u00e9poca para considerar cambiar nuestros h\u00e1bitos y mejorar la forma en que nos conducimos en nuestras acciones.<\/p>\n<p>Reflexionamos aquello que hemos hecho bien, aquello que ha funcionado, aquello que debemos seguir haciendo, que nos llena de satisfacciones, pero tambi\u00e9n miramos hacia atr\u00e1s y debemos evaluar aquellas cosas que no hemos hecho bien y los retos que tenemos por delante.<\/p>\n<p>Y uno de ellos, como sector tur\u00edstico, es el cuidado y protecci\u00f3n de nuestros arrecifes. El Reporte de Salud del Arrecife Mesoamericano, producido por la organizaci\u00f3n <i>Haelthy Reefs for Healthy People<\/i> en 2015 (y cuyo nuevo informe ver\u00e1 la luz en este mes de enero 2018), nos da una realidad escalofriante: alrededor del 75% de los arrecifes de coral de nuestras costas se encuentran en condiciones de malas a regulares.<\/p>\n<p>Y a pesar de que M\u00e9xico ha hecho su tarea de proteger estos ecosistemas, a trav\u00e9s de los decretos de \u00c1reas Naturales Protegidas (incluyendo la Reserva de la Biosfera del Caribe Mexicano), y eso asegura en parte su conservaci\u00f3n a mediano y largo plazo, la realidad es que nuestros arrecifes, que son clave en la regulaci\u00f3n costera, la protecci\u00f3n contra tormentas, la captura de carbono y el desarrollo de especies que posteriormente servir\u00e1n para la pesca comercial, entre otros, requieren una intervenci\u00f3n urgente, si es que queremos mantenerlos por muchos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s y seguir recibiendo sus beneficios.<\/p>\n<p>Hace unos meses particip\u00e9 en una reuni\u00f3n (el Foro Latinoamericano de Inversi\u00f3n de Impacto) donde escuch\u00e9 decir que la sustentabilidad en el mundo estaba ya pasada de moda como concepto; es decir, que las grandes empresas y destinos competitivos ven esto no como un valor agregado, sino como un <i>must<\/i> que hay que tener. Y los expositores dec\u00edan que las empresas y destinos que quisieran liderar el mundo en el futuro deber\u00edan trabajar en temas de restauraci\u00f3n de ecosistemas, porque muchos de los da\u00f1os a los mismos ya estaban hechos y era tiempo de devolver a estos un poco de lo mucho que nos han dado.<\/p>\n<p>Por ello, este 2018, que adem\u00e1s se celebra a nivel mundial como el \u2018A\u00f1o Internacional de los Arrecifes de Coral\u2019, mi prop\u00f3sito es que en Quintana Roo y su sector tur\u00edstico logremos trabajar juntos por la restauraci\u00f3n de los arrecifes de coral y los ecosistemas que los sustentan.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfSe imaginan que pudi\u00e9ramos presumir, al cierre de 2018, que hemos logrado mejorar, en conjunto, las condiciones de uno de los ecosistemas m\u00e1s importantes y bellos del planeta, y del cual somos guardianes?<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfComplejo? No. Metodolog\u00edas y herramientas para hacerlo existen y ya se ha hecho en otros sitios del mundo. \u00bfPosible?
