Son pocas las empresas que perduran por d\u00e9cadas, dejando huella y legado entre sus empleados y sus consumidores. Por el lado contrario, tambi\u00e9n es conocido que miles de empresas no logran el crecimiento esperado y terminan cerrando sus puertas, abandonando sus productos o servicios.<\/strong><\/p>\n

En los siguientes casos, presentamos algunas de aquellas marcas que dejaron s\u00f3lo su recuerdo, ya sea por falta de demanda o innovaci\u00f3n para adaptarse a las nuevas necesidades de sus clientes.<\/p>\n

1. Kodak<\/h2>\n

En 1976, Kodak ten\u00eda una cuota de mercado del 90% de las ventas de rollos fotogr\u00e1ficos y un 85% de la ventas de c\u00e1maras. Y a\u00fan as\u00ed, el 19 de enero del 2012 \u2014despu\u00e9s de 123 a\u00f1os de haber sido fundada\u2014 se declar\u00f3 en bancarrota.<\/p>\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 le pas\u00f3 a esta empresa que albergaba a los mejores ingenieros de su pa\u00eds y que presentaba ganancias en miles de millones de d\u00f3lares? De alg\u00fan modo, Kodak fue el Google de su \u00e9poca y a\u00fan as\u00ed perdi\u00f3 ante los cambios disruptivos de la tecnolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n

2. Sega<\/h2>\n

Se trat\u00f3 de una de las m\u00e1s grandes compa\u00f1\u00edas de videojuegos de la historia. Durante a\u00f1os la compa\u00f1\u00eda japonesa ofreci\u00f3 consolas incre\u00edbles y juegos que se convirtieron en cl\u00e1sicos. Su reinado acab\u00f3 con la llegada de Nintendo.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, la llegada de la Sony Playstation y decisiones en cuanto al hardware llevaron a un claro declive. Para enmendar su error, en 1999 Sega sac\u00f3 la Dreamcast, una m\u00e1quina potente, con multijugador online y un cat\u00e1logo de juegos espectacular. Pese a vender 36 millones de unidades, tampoco funcion\u00f3.<\/p>\n

3. Nokia<\/h2>\n

La compa\u00f1\u00eda de telefon\u00eda finlandesa fue la clara dominante del mercado en los a\u00f1os noventa, consiguiendo hacer de los tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles un dispositivo para todo el mundo.<\/p>\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 hizo mal? Con la llegada de los \u00absmartphones\u00bb todo cambi\u00f3. Apple present\u00f3 su iPhone y Google lanz\u00f3 Android. El \u00e9xito de estos dos sistemas fue inmediato. Nokia sin embargo sigui\u00f3 apostando por una versi\u00f3n m\u00e1s moderna de Symbian. No era suficiente para los potentes dispositivos t\u00e1ctiles que estaban por venir. La compa\u00f1\u00eda tard\u00f3 mucho en reaccionar, y para cuando quisieron darse cuenta, iOS y Android se hab\u00edan hecho con una gran parte del mercado.<\/p>\n

4. Blockbuster<\/h2>\n

En 2004 no ten\u00eda rival, nadie pod\u00eda competir con sus miles de tiendas en todo el mundo. Alquilaban viodeojuegos y pel\u00edculas desde 1985. Su expansi\u00f3n era tan imparable que en 1994 Viacom lleg\u00f3 a pagar 8 mil 400 millones de d\u00f3lares por ella, pensaron que se trataba de una inversi\u00f3n segura, sin embargo, con la llegada de internet todo se torn\u00f3 complejo.<\/p>\n

Hace unos a\u00f1os puso en marcha un plan de suscripci\u00f3n v\u00eda streaming, pero no pudo competir con los precios que ya ofrec\u00edan plataformas como Netflix. Dish se hizo en 2011 con Blockbuster por s\u00f3lo 223 millones.
