Simplemente en el estado de Quintana Roo este sector representa aproximadamente el 60% del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) estatal y contribuye con cerca del 35% del total de la actividad econ\u00f3mica tur\u00edstica en el pa\u00eds. Asimismo provee de agua dulce a 1.5 millones de habitantes de comunidades rurales y urbanas de Quintana Roo, destaca la Asociaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl apoyo del programa HSBC por el Agua, que comenz\u00f3 en enero de 2013, consiste en la implementaci\u00f3n de t\u00e9cnicas de vanguardia en la investigaci\u00f3n de los flujos y trayectorias de los r\u00edos subterr\u00e1neos, para establecer las mejores estrategias de protecci\u00f3n de esta fuente de agua dulce\u201d, explic\u00f3 el director de Sustentabilidad de HSBC M\u00e9xico, Miguel \u00c1ngel Laporta De Caso.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00f1adi\u00f3 que el mejor conocimiento del manto acu\u00edfero proveer\u00e1 a las autoridades locales las bases cient\u00edficas para la mejor toma de decisiones y beneficiar\u00e1 as\u00ed al ecosistema y la integridad de este destino tur\u00edstico.<\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo con el director ejecutivo de la Asociaci\u00f3n Amigos de Sian Ka\u00b4an, Gonzalo Merediz Alonso, \u201cla gran relevancia de que las pr\u00edstinas aguas del Acu\u00edfero Maya hayan sido seleccionadas para ser apoyadas por el programa HSBC por el Agua, demuestra el gran compromiso de este banco por conservar el recurso m\u00e1s importante para que el Caribe mexicano se siga desarrollando paralelamente a la conservaci\u00f3n de ecosistemas prioritarios para
