El Festival de Papalotes Isla Blanca<\/strong> celebrar\u00e1 su d\u00e9cima edici\u00f3n el pr\u00f3ximo s\u00e1bado 24 y domingo 25 de febrero con el objetivo de diversificar las actividades tur\u00edsticas que ofrece el Caribe Mexicano, impulsar la convivencia familiar y recaudar fondos en beneficio de la Asociaci\u00f3n Civil Canc\u00fan Pro Kids y el DIF de Isla Mujeres<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

El organismo de promoci\u00f3n destac\u00f3 que el tradicional festival, que ha despertado el inter\u00e9s de la comunidad en general y de visitantes nacionales y extranjeros, ofrecer\u00e1\u00a0 espect\u00e1culos con papalotes gigantes y papalotes acrob\u00e1ticos, burbujas gigantes as\u00ed como de concursos para que ni\u00f1os y grandes puedan participar, como son la carrera de paraca\u00eddas y la pi\u00f1ata papalote. \u201cEs un evento en el que se busca promover a Canc\u00fan<\/strong> como un destino tur\u00edstico para vacacionar y volar papalotes\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Charles Stewart, uno de los fundadores del festival.<\/p>\n

Los organizadores del festival, que se celebrar\u00e1 los dos d\u00edas en un horario de 11 a 16 horas, se\u00f1alaron que para esta edici\u00f3n contar\u00e1n con la participaci\u00f3n de los voladores internacionales de papalotes Jim Martin, Penny Lingenfelter, Litsong Lu y Wen Jeng. La entrada al evento ser\u00e1 gratuita y los visitantes podr\u00e1n traer sus papalotes o adquirirlos en el lugar del evento.<\/p>\n

El Festival de Papalotes Isla Blanca<\/strong> creado en 2009 por Charles y Dorothy Stewart naci\u00f3 como una actividad recreativa para los ni\u00f1os y adolescentes de la Casa Hogar de la Asociaci\u00f3n Civil Canc\u00fan Pro Kids<\/strong>, evento que cada a\u00f1o fue creciendo con la participaci\u00f3n de la comunidad y turistas logrando convertirla en un festival que permite recaudar fondos para la instituci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Los organizadores agradecieron a la OVC de Canc\u00fan<\/strong> as\u00ed como a un grupo de empresas que se suman cada a\u00f1o a esta iniciativa como son el Hotel Colonial, Restaurante Pericos, Caba\u00f1a Playa Blanca, Easy Way Rent a Car y la Escuela Ikarus Kiteboarding.
