Hay un punto muy importante a remarcar, y es que esos visitantes se enamoran de este destino vacacional y vuelven a regresar, pero tambi\u00e9n se convierten en promotores en sus lugares de origen\u201d, indic\u00f3 la presidenta municipal <strong>Laura Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo con el estudio \u201cPerfil y comportamiento del turista\u201d, realizado por la <strong>Secretar\u00eda Estatal de Turismo (Sedetur)<\/strong>, correspondiente a los meses de octubre a diciembre de 2017, 46.9% de los turistas que vacacionaron en Puerto Morelos ya hab\u00edan visitado el destino en al menos una ocasi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El 55.9% de los vacacionistas que se alojaron en los hoteles de la localidad procedieron de Estados Unidos, principalmente de Texas, California y otros estados de la costa Este.<\/p>\n<p>El segmento de edad predominante en ese lapso fue el de 40 a 49 a\u00f1os y destaca que los amigos y visitas anteriores son las principales razones para haber escogido este rinc\u00f3n de M\u00e9xico en el Caribe, que cuenta con m\u00e1s de siete mil cuartos hoteleros, y que en el m\u00e1s reciente fin de semana reportaron una ocupaci\u00f3n general por encima de los 90 puntos porcentuales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl fin de semana estuvimos a tope en los hoteles del centro, gracias a que fuimos sede del XIII Marat\u00f3n de Aguas Abiertas \u2018Ruta del Arrecife\u2019 y el 3er. Festival del Ceviche, que forman parte de la larga lista de eventos que a\u00f1o con a\u00f1o se organizan y fortalecen la econom\u00eda de la localidad\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Laura Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n<p>En este sentido, adelant\u00f3 que la tendencia de ocupaci\u00f3n y llegada de visitantes se mantendr\u00e1 hasta la temporada de Semana Santa, que iniciar\u00e1 la \u00faltima semana de marzo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSon datos que nos alientan a seguir trabajando para mejorar nuestro Pueblo con Encanto, por eso hemos puesto en marcha obras como el cambio de luminarias en la entrada a la zona tur\u00edstica y la conversi\u00f3n de la red de distribuci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica a\u00e9rea a subterr\u00e1nea en el Casco Antiguo. Posteriormente vendr\u00e1 la pavimentaci\u00f3n de calles con concreto hidr\u00e1ulico y la construcci\u00f3n de banquetas y guarniciones\u201d,
