Se espera que la operaci\u00f3n cierre antes de que finalice el a\u00f1o y el acuerdo ser\u00e1 implementado inicialmente en la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico, Guadalajara y Monterrey.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Walmart Inc. anunci\u00f3 la adquisici\u00f3n del 100% de la propiedad Cornershop Inc., una firma chilena especializada en ventas de supermercado a domicilio a trav\u00e9s de internet, por 225 millones de d\u00f3lares<\/strong>, como parte de sus esfuerzos para fortalecer su estrategia omnicanal, lo que significa estar para los clientes por cualquier canal de venta en todo momento.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLa adquisici\u00f3n de Cornershop es muy especial para Walmex, ya que marca un gran paso hacia el cumplimiento de nuestro objetivo de convertirnos en el mejor minorista omnicanal en M\u00e9xico\u201d,<\/strong> dijo Guilherme Loureiro, presidente y director general de Walmart de M\u00e9xico y Centroam\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n

Acerca del\u00a0modelo de negocio, Cornershop\u00a0trabaja con colaboradores que visitan tiendas para comprar y luego realizar las\u00a0entregas de \u00f3rdenes\u00a0a los clientes<\/strong>. Este modelo, aplica la posibilidad de solicitar comestibles en varias tiendas: tiendas de abarrotes, tiendas especializadas en carnes o vinos, entre otras, y en un solo pedido.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan lo anunciado por\u00a0Walmart<\/strong>, los fundadores de\u00a0Cornershop, Oskar Hjertonsson (CEO),\u00a0Daniel Undurraga<\/strong>(COO), y\u00a0Juan Pablo Cuevas<\/strong>\u00a0(CTO), as\u00ed como sus equipos, continuar\u00e1n con la direcci\u00f3n del negocio despu\u00e9s de la adquisici\u00f3n de Walmart.<\/p>\n

De igual manera, sus clientes\u00a0podr\u00e1n comprar productos en las tiendas y clubes de Walmex en M\u00e9xico al mismo precio al que se venden en las tiendas y clubes f\u00edsicos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cEl liderazgo digital, tecnolog\u00eda y\u00a0capacidades de Cornershop, combinados con la infraestructura, escala, experiencia y capacidades log\u00edsticas\u00a0de Walmex nos permitir\u00e1n acelerar el crecimiento y entregar una experiencia de compra sin fricci\u00f3n a m\u00e1s clientes<\/strong>\u201d, agreg\u00f3.<\/p>\n
