Foto: Las Estrellas<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cQuiz\u00e1 ocho segundos de ventaja pudieran parecer pocos en comparaci\u00f3n con los dos minutos que se tienen cuando el origen del temblor est\u00e1 en las costas, pero son clave&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Los esfuerzos por generar herramientas que permitan salvaguardar la vida de las personas contin\u00faan. Tal es el caso del nuevo algoritmo desarrollado por el doctorante del Instituto de Geof\u00edsica (IGF) de la UNAM, Armando Cuellar, el cual permite a los habitantes del centro del pa\u00eds espec\u00edficamente saber con unos ocho segundos de anticipaci\u00f3n si se aproxima un sismo como el del 19 de septiembre.<\/p>\n<p>A un a\u00f1o del temblor de magnitud 7.1 que sacudi\u00f3 parte del territorio mexicano, hoy sabemos que cualquier esfuerzo por alertar a la poblaci\u00f3n ante la llegada de un sismo es de vital importancia, \u00abquiz\u00e1 ocho segundos de ventaja pudieran parecer pocos en comparaci\u00f3n son los dos minutos que se tienen cuando el origen del temblor est\u00e1 en las costas, pero, son clave para que centros educativos, hospitales, sistemas de seguridad, y la poblaci\u00f3n en general tomen previsiones\u00bb, explic\u00f3 Gerardo Suarez Reynoso investigador del IGF quien dirigi\u00f3 la tesis de cu\u00e9llar.<\/p>\n<p>Este algoritmo (conjunto de instrucciones detalladas paso a paso para resolver un problema o completar una tarea) corre a trav\u00e9s de un software, que capta el movimiento tel\u00farico tres segundos despu\u00e9s de que se gener\u00f3 y determina, con menos informaci\u00f3n, si se requiere activar la alerta<span style=\"color: #414141; font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_33523\" style=\"width: 910px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Armando-Cuellar.jpg\" data-rel=\"penci-gallery-image-content\" ><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-33523\" class=\"wp-image-33523 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Armando-Cuellar.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"677\" srcset=\"https:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Armando-Cuellar.jpg 900w, https:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Armando-Cuellar-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Armando-Cuellar-768x578.jpg 768w, https:\/\/l21.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Armando-Cuellar-585x440.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-33523\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Armando Cuellar,\u00a0doctorante del Instituto de Geof\u00edsica (IGF) de la UNAM. Foto: Rutadigital<\/p><\/div>\n<p>El algoritmo fue desarrollado principalmente por cuellar, y est\u00e1 basado en la informaci\u00f3n de 76 acelerogramas provenientes de 25 estaciones de monitoreo, para sismos ubicados a profundidades mayores de 40 kil\u00f3metros.<\/p>\n<p>El software ya fue implementado por el Centro de Instrumentaci\u00f3n y Registro S\u00edsmico (Cires). Esta asociaci\u00f3n civil es la que est\u00e1 encargada de operar la alerta s\u00edsmica con la que actualmente cuenta la CDMX.<\/p>\n<p>Ser\u00e1 de especial beneficio para las personas que viven en zonas m\u00e1s cercanas al epicentro y que usualmente no cuentan con un alertamiento temprano.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:
