Tras concluir la instalaci\u00f3n de su tramo de red de 180 kil\u00f3metros de banda ancha de fibra \u00f3ptica que abarca desde Tulum hasta Playa Mujeres, Gignet<\/a>, la nueva marca de operaciones de Cobalt Broadband Services, S.A. de C.V. abri\u00f3 sus nuevas oficinas y centro de operaciones de la red, el primero en Quintana Roo en ofrecer respaldo local 24\/7 para sus clientes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Con una inversi\u00f3n de 60 mdd,<\/strong> GigNet instal\u00f3 dicha red que proporcionar\u00e1 a hoteles internet de alta velocidad, con lo que impactar\u00e1n el mercado de banda ancha en el Caribe mexicano.<\/p>\n

Mark Carney, director de Desarrollo Comercial de GigNet<\/strong>, explic\u00f3 que se utiliz\u00f3 capital propio para ofrecer un gigabit de conectividad de internet de banda ancha a cada propiedad de hotel junto con la fibra a la habitaci\u00f3n y Wifi ininterrumpido a cambio de un peque\u00f1o cargo diario a la habitaci\u00f3n. \u201cEsta propuesta de valor tan convincente es posible debido a nuestra red de primer nivel<\/strong>, completamente redundante de fibra \u00f3ptica de banda ancha con garant\u00eda del servicio de la red, seguridad, excepcional, adem\u00e1s de respaldo y monitoreo permanente\u201d, indic\u00f3.<\/p>\n

En este sentido dijo que muchos desarrollos en esta zona tienen entre 20 y 40 a\u00f1os<\/strong>, por lo que su cableado es de cobre y no funciona como debe despu\u00e9s de tantos a\u00f1os; es decir, funcionan pero no son tan claros, por ejemplo mucha gente que viene quiere ver su Netflix y ah\u00ed no se puede, en promedio una familia trae siete dispositivos y requiere mucho ancho de banda, pero no lo hay, por eso primero se necesita hacer una inversi\u00f3n de infraestructura en el hotel, y eso es lo que les ofrecer\u00e1 GigNet.<\/p>\n

Agreg\u00f3 que en este momento 20 hoteles, que suman alrededor de 10 mil habitaciones ya contrataron el servicio de GigNet<\/a><\/strong> y la expectativa para el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o es agregar contratos para unas 10 mil habitaciones m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n
