Ratificando su liderazgo como el mayor tour operador de Canad\u00e1 hacia M\u00e9xico, Sunwing Travel Group, presidida por Stephen Hunter y Lawrence Elliot como vicepresidente, cristaliza finalmente su intenci\u00f3n de establecer un hotel en los linderos de Puerto Morelos, con una inversi\u00f3n de 250 mdd.<\/p>\n

Con este \u201cpeque\u00f1o gran paso\u201d, Sunwing cierra el c\u00edrculo virtuoso al integrar todos los servicios de la cadena tur\u00edstica, tal como lo han hecho exitosamente la estadounidense Apple Vacation, de la mano de John Mullen; la espa\u00f1ola Iberostar, de Miguel Flux\u00e1, y en el \u00e1mbito del Caribe mexicano qu\u00e9 mejor ejemplo que el de Lomas Travel, capitaneada por Jos\u00e9 Luis Mart\u00ednez. Todos en determinado momento tuvieron la visi\u00f3n no s\u00f3lo de crecer sino de diversificar sus productos y servicios.<\/p>\n

Ya en 2011 se anunciaba la sociedad firmada entre Sunwing\u00a0 y el grupo espa\u00f1ol Playa Senator Hoteles, de Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Rosell, para la construcci\u00f3n de dos hoteles. Es ahora cuando la tour operadora canadiense anuncia con bombos y platillos, y con el espaldarazo de la propia Secretar\u00eda de Turismo (Sectur), la construcci\u00f3n para 2014 de mil 250 habitaciones del hotel Royalton Riviera Canc\u00fan, en una primera fase.<\/p>\n

Sunwing sienta bases firmes en el Caribe mexicano, donde se encuentran sus destinos con mayor fortaleza: Canc\u00fan, Cozumel y Riviera Maya, sin demeritar el resto de sus propuestas en M\u00e9xico: Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Los Cabos, Acapulco, Ixtapa y Huatulco donde est\u00e1 presente con una oferta de 141 hoteles.<\/p>\n

La mayorista es considerada la n\u00famero uno en ventas totales de paquetes vacacionales de Canad\u00e1 hacia M\u00e9xico; tan s\u00f3lo en 2012 moviliz\u00f3 331 mil turistas, que ocuparon un mill\u00f3n cien mil cuartos noche.<\/p>\n
