Amanda Wills entreg\u00f3 el galard\u00f3n al director del Fideicomiso de Promoci\u00f3n Tur\u00edstica de la Riviera Maya (FPTRM), Dar\u00edo Flota Ocampo, quien destac\u00f3 el aumento que reporta el mercado ingl\u00e9s y que desde el 2012 se convirti\u00f3 en el principal emisor de visitantes europeos a la Riviera Maya, superando a los italianos y a los espa\u00f1oles. En el 2011 llegaron a la Riviera Maya 211 mil 801 turistas brit\u00e1nicos, 15.31% m\u00e1s que en 2012, para alcanzar 244 mil 231vistantes. En tanto de enero a agosto de este a\u00f1o llegaron 196 mil 571 turistas ingleses, lo que significa un aumento del 26.9% en relaci\u00f3n con el mismo periodo del 2012. La aerol\u00ednea Virgin Atlantic, propiedad del brit\u00e1nico Sir Richard Branson, y a la que pertenece la touroperadora Virgin Holidays, mantiene 28 vuelos de Londres a Canc\u00fan, y de enero a
