Fue un gran estratega en el mundo de los negocios, cuyo gran acierto tuvo una tit\u00e1nica dosis de atrevimiento. Su exitosa actividad empresarial la inici\u00f3 siendo buzo de Aquatours hace muchos ayeres -dos d\u00e9cadas para ser precisos-. Ah\u00ed tuvo la visi\u00f3n \u201caccidentada\u201d de hacer tours a la zonas arqueol\u00f3gicas de Tulum-Akumal-Xel H\u00e1-Yakul-Xcaret, en sus d\u00edas de descanso, a bordo de un Fairmont de dos puertas sin aire acondicionado, con una hielera, y con una tarifa de 150 d\u00f3lares -su sueldo quincenal-, prometiendo \u201cel mejor d\u00eda\u201d de las vacaciones de los aventurados turistas.<\/p>\n<p>De ello result\u00f3 Best Day, su empresa, que en un abrir y cerrar de ojos despeg\u00f3 desde el Caribe mexicano para posicionarse como la primera agencia de viajes virtual del mundo. A trav\u00e9s del desarrollo de un software, el cual ha ido evolucionando gracias a un ingenioso equipo de mexicanos, Best Day es un referente internacional con un espectacular motor de reservas envidiado por grandes corporaciones.<\/p>\n<p>En uno de sus \u00faltimos encuentros con los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n, Fernando Garc\u00eda Zalvidea anunciaba junto con directivos del Hyatt la fusi\u00f3n de su hotel Real Resorts con esta marca para operar el primer hotel bajo la marca Hyatt Zilara.<\/p>\n<p>Bajo la consigna de su creador, Best Day sigue su proceso de evoluci\u00f3n, ahora al incorporar al proceso de venta 200 tablets en Canc\u00fan y la Riviera Maya, que ofrecer\u00e1n el servicio de Startours para agilizar la comercializaci\u00f3n de los diferentes paquetes de la compa\u00f1\u00eda. Este peque\u00f1o gran paso permitir\u00e1 reducir hasta un 50% el proceso de atenci\u00f3n al turista, gracias\u00a0 a que los vendedores de la marca podr\u00e1n llevar a cabo prepagos, cotizaciones, cambios de fechas, cat\u00e1logo de proveedores al instante.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Altruismo al m\u00e1ximo<\/p>\n<p>Pero tambi\u00e9n Fernando Garc\u00eda Zalvidea tuvo otra clase de atrevimiento, y ese es de naturaleza filantr\u00f3pica. Hace 12 a\u00f1os confabul\u00f3 La Ciudad de la Alegr\u00eda con un grupo de personas que como \u00e9l han querido devolver la generosidad del destino a su comunidad m\u00e1s vulnerable: ni\u00f1os desprotegidos, mujeres maltratadas, enfermos de VIH sida y personas de la tercera edad en condiciones adversas.<\/p>\n<p>Los benefactores, liderados por \u00e9l, han llevado a cuestas una tit\u00e1nica labor, cuyo \u00e9xito en programas y beneficiados est\u00e1n sentando precedentes hist\u00f3ricamente hablando en la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Fernando y asociados a \u00faltimas fechas buscaron innovadores esquemas para permitir la solvencia para la operaci\u00f3n de este centro comunitario con importantes alianzas con medios de comunicaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Ciudad de la Alegr\u00eda, pues, fue uno de los legados m\u00e1s preciados\u00a0 de Fernando Garc\u00eda Zalvidea, al que logr\u00f3 sumar muchas otras voluntades en la construcci\u00f3n de un mundo menos imperfecto. Fue un fiel devoto del Caribe mexicano.
