<\/a><\/p>\nCozumel.- Con el registro de los primeros tres nidos de la tortuga caguama (Caretta caretta) en el campamento tortuguero que opera la Fundaci\u00f3n de Parques y Museos de Cozumel en el centro ecotur\u00edstico Punta Sur, se da por iniciada oficialmente la temporada 2023 de anidaci\u00f3n y se activa el programa de protecci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
Con estas acciones que llevan m\u00e1s de 35 a\u00f1os, se refuerza la conservaci\u00f3n y la educaci\u00f3n ambiental, por ello es prioridad para la gobernadora Mara Lezama Espinosa y a trav\u00e9s del Acuerdo por el Bienestar y Desarrollo de Quintana Roo se impulsan programas que ayudan a proteger los recursos naturales y a incentivar la participaci\u00f3n ciudadana en el cuidado del medio ambiente.<\/p>\n
Cada temporada se reactiva el programa de protecci\u00f3n a la tortuga marina de la FPMC, con lo que se inician los recorridos nocturnos para registrar y resguardar la mayor cantidad de nidos y liberar a las cr\u00edas en el momento de su eclosi\u00f3n, as\u00ed como la protecci\u00f3n de su h\u00e1bitat natural, explic\u00f3 el director de Conservaci\u00f3n y Educaci\u00f3n Ambiental de la instituci\u00f3n, Rafael Chac\u00f3n D\u00edaz.<\/p>\n
Coment\u00f3 que la FPMC fue pionera cuando inici\u00f3 trabajos de protecci\u00f3n a la tortuga marina hace 35 a\u00f1os, sin embargo, fue hace 23 a\u00f1os cuando oficialmente se instal\u00f3 el primer campamento tortuguero en Punta Sur.<\/p>\n
Hoy en d\u00eda las tortugas marinas se consideran una especie en peligro de extinci\u00f3n, por lo que es importante que adem\u00e1s del trabajo de campo, fomentar en la poblaci\u00f3n en general y el turismo, pl\u00e1ticas de concientizaci\u00f3n en el tema de la tortuga marina y del medio ambiente.<\/p>\n
En ese sentido agradeci\u00f3 y reconoci\u00f3 la importante aportaci\u00f3n de las personas voluntarias, que a\u00f1o tras a\u00f1o comprometen su tiempo para ser parte de esta labor y anunci\u00f3 que para quienes est\u00e9n interesados en colaborar esta temporada en los recorridos nocturnos, marcaje y liberaci\u00f3n de cr\u00edas, tendr\u00e1n que asistir a la pl\u00e1tica que se impartir\u00e1 el 18 de mayo a las 5 de la tarde en el auditorio del Museo de la Isla.<\/p>\n
El bi\u00f3logo Chac\u00f3n D\u00edaz especific\u00f3 que la temporada va de mayo a noviembre, aunque este a\u00f1o llegaron unos d\u00edas antes y record\u00f3 que el a\u00f1o pasado se clausur\u00f3 la temporada con el registro de mil 40 nidos, de los cuales 926 fueron de la especie Blanca (Chelonia mydas) y 100 de Caguama (Caretta caretta) y destac\u00f3 el apoyo del director general, Jos\u00e9 Luis Chac\u00f3n M\u00e9ndez, para otorgar todas las facilidades para seguir operando el campamento durante esta temporada 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
