como una actividad transformadora de la sociedad y promotora del desarrollo econ\u00f3mico sostenible, se\u00f1al\u00f3 el secretario general de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial del Turismo (OMT), Taleb Rifai.<\/p>\n<p>En el marco de las actividades de la Feria Internacional de Turismo (FITUR) 2014, Rifai destac\u00f3 que la designaci\u00f3n de M\u00e9xico como anfitri\u00f3n del D\u00eda Mundial del Turismo (DMT) no es una casualidad, sino que refleja su elevado compromiso pol\u00edtico, el cual lleva adelante con el turismo.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e9xico fue designado por la OMT para ser el organizador y anfitri\u00f3n del\u00a0 DMT, que bajo el lema\u00a0<em>Turismo y desarrollo de la comunidad,<\/em>\u00a0se llevar\u00e1 a cabo el pr\u00f3ximo 27 de septiembre.<\/p>\n<p>Al respecto, Taleb Rifai asegur\u00f3 que nuestro pa\u00eds marcar\u00e1 un ejemplo de c\u00f3mo acercar el turismo a la poblaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e9xico, dijo, es el pa\u00eds m\u00e1s adecuado para poner en pr\u00e1ctica este enfoque y llevar adelante tareas en este sentido, al desarrollar comunidades a partir del turismo.<\/p>\n<p>Expres\u00f3 que este a\u00f1o ser\u00e1 la primera ocasi\u00f3n que el DMT se celebre bajo esa visi\u00f3n, pero asegur\u00f3 estar convencido de que servir\u00e1 para abrir los ojos de la gente.<\/p>\n<p>Para Taleb Rifai, el DMT pretende fomentar la sensibilizaci\u00f3n de la comunidad internacional sobre la importancia del turismo y su valor social, cultural, pol\u00edtico y econ\u00f3mico.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, en el evento en M\u00e9xico, se podr\u00e1 contribuir al logro de los retos marcados en los Objetivos del Desarrollo de las Naciones Unidas para el Milenio, y se incidir\u00e1 en la contribuci\u00f3n que puede aportar el sector tur\u00edstico para alcanzar estos objetivos.<\/p>\n<p>Expres\u00f3 que\u00a0 en lo social, el turismo, adem\u00e1s de generar empleo, mueve inversiones lo que provoca otra clase de beneficios sociales.<\/p>\n<p>En lo econ\u00f3mico, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que el turismo genera dinero y se queda y beneficia al pa\u00eds, pero la poblaci\u00f3n se podr\u00e1 beneficiar, siempre y cuando mejore la distribuci\u00f3n del
