En los a\u00f1os 90, el denominado segmento de turismo spring break, <\/em>que integran en su mayor\u00eda j\u00f3venes estadounidenses que buscan el mejor destino de playa para vacacionar en primavera, tuvo su mayor auge con el arribo en promedio de hasta 100 mil turistas al a\u00f1o, quienes disfrutaban ampliamente de las bondades de un centro vacacional como Canc\u00fan.<\/p>\n

El despunte que tuvo el destino durante ese lapso propici\u00f3 en muy poco tiempo que la temporada se caracterizara por constantes problemas con los visitantes debido a los excesos, ri\u00f1as y tropel\u00edas en que incurr\u00edan, entre otras cosas por el abuso en el consumo de alcohol, lo que incluso deriv\u00f3 en varias ocasiones en la deportaci\u00f3n de los turistas a sus lugares de origen, y se convirti\u00f3 para muchos prestadores de servicios en el segmento inc\u00f3modo.<\/p>\n

Se hizo entonces necesario un trabajo conjunto entre los turisteros y el gobierno municipal para poner orden, y fue cuando se determin\u00f3 establecer un c\u00f3digo de conducta en el que se hacen recomendaciones y un recordatorio de las reglas que privan en el pa\u00eds, mismo que desde hace ya varios a\u00f1os se distribuye durante la temporada tanto en el aeropuerto internacional de Canc\u00fan como en los hoteles.<\/p>\n

El vaiv\u00e9n de este segmento, en el que si bien influyeron las reglas para su visita, fueron tambi\u00e9n determinantes otros factores como la situaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica, la seguridad y hasta los fen\u00f3menos naturales, pero parece que encuentra su estabilidad y se mantiene ahora como un segmento complementario para la ciudad.<\/p>\n
